The monument is a great tribute to the soldiers who fought to preserve the Union. I have ben fortunate enough to visit the monuments to Ohio regiments at Lookout Mountain, in right outside of Chattanooga, TN. If you notice, the soldier has his back to the south, if you visit Souter cities with rebel monuments, their soldiers have their backs to the north.

I still live here in Youngstown. I want to love it but kind of hate it there is not alot of good paying jobs. Im a carpenter and have to drive about 1 1/2 hr or more for work every day. Just tired of it. I know there are a lot of people in the same position.

Arby's is shitty food. The meat is processed and the buns are dry. The sauces are all bland and the toppings are nothing special. Protilos, on the other hand, is a gourmet burger experience. The meat is fresh and the buns are soft and buttery. The sauces are savory and the toppings are fresh and flavorful. There's no comparison - Protilos is a million times better than Arby's.

I used to visit the original Arby's in Boardman with my family. The sandwiches were incredible. They were made from actual roasted top round beef, cooked medium to medium rare and served on an egg bun. They were so juicy that the bun would disintegrate by the time you were done eating. I'd love to see Arby's go back to their original formula.

I grew up about 40 miles south of Youngstown and got to go to the park several times over different summers. Thank you for your video and all the great memories.

This was so interesting. When I tapped on the title, I was thinking “Why do I know the name Idora Park?” I was born in Youngstown, in 1951 in 1953 my parents moved to Lorain Ohio. My baby sister was born in 1954. I do not think I ever went to the park, but I certainly recalled the name. You did a terrific job putting together this film. So much history good thing you made this composition when you did. Nature reclaims what man cuts out. Thank You again for this bit of Ohio history.

I have watched several videos now on the Oak Hill cemetery and strangely no mention of Jimmy McAleer who was the first manager of the Cleveland Indians in 1901 and also played for the Cleveland Spiders from 1889 to 1898.

Sucks my town used to look so beautiful. They tore all of those buildings just to put parking lots down. Downtown is getting better but they need to fix the south side. It’s horrible. Also had no clue Isaly’s owned that U-Haul building that I see driving on I-680 (I was born in 1999).

Went there as they took all the kids that did safety patrol for the Akron public schools.What a treat for a young kid.The rocket ship rode was cool.And it started my obsession with rollercoasters.Also miss geauga lake park.Thanks for the memories and I couldn’t remember where this was even at til a couple years ago..Akron also used to have a amusement park also.

What wonderful memories you have rekindled for me. A trip to Idora in the 1960’s was a major event and the park never disappointed. It was a simpler time where a hot Summer day was just perfect for a trip to Youngstown’s Million Dollar Playground. Those wonderful times were becoming foggy memories but you brought it all back. Many thanks for putting a smile on my face today!
